| We have tried every which way to get a new laptop with XP and XP drivers as specified for the Gateway. We can get XP downgrades but not with manufacturer's approved or tested XP drivers, it seems all the manufactures with IEEE 1394 ports have moved on to Vista.
Will the Gateway only work properly with XP, assuming all the other issues with chip sets are taken into account?
Has anyone used the Gateway successfully on a laptop with Vista? |

| Hello,
The drivers for the Gateway are actually compatible with Vista, but not yet officially signed, and may not install in Vista 64 until we get them signed properly (which should happen very soon!)
I have personally tested the Gateway on a Vista 32 computer with various security settings, and I have been able to successfully use the standard Gateway drivers in each case. There are of course varying degrees of security messages that are involved and may be confusing depending on your security level. If you would like assistance, please contact me at Renkus-Heinz. |

| Hi Jonas,
I would like to know if there are any news about compatibility of Easera Gateway and Vista 64. The brother sound card Presonus Firebox is already compatible.
Should we wait long?
Best regards and Merry Christmas |

| The Vista Signed drivers are availble at the Renkus-Heinz web-site. I have both the Gateway and the FireBox operating on my Vista x64 box.

| Thanks for your reply, Bruce
I have tried with the drivers at R-H site and I have the same problem that using the drivers in the installation CD (it says "the hardware is not properly configured"). So I though that the problem had to be with compatibility between Vista 64 and Easera Gateway since I have the card working in another Vista 32 laptop.
Regards and happy new year,
Carlos |
