| I started out working with a soccer stadium EASE Model which was an Open Room. I was able to get RaSTI values to map in both the Eyes and Area Mapping modules. The numbers looked reasonable, based on the speaker placement, time arrivals, etc.
The faces that made up the seating bowl were over simplified and needed to be redrawn to more accurately reflect the structure. After I redrew the seating bowl faces and added faces for the roof all RaSti values mapped to any Audience Area (or face) are 0 and all Articulation Loss values are 100%.
The room has about 1000 faces and is still open. Does a room need to be closed to get accurate values for RaSTI and Articulation Loss? What other factors might cause a room to stop giving these values?
I tried putting the stadium in a large box to close it but received a ton of errors.
Thanks in advance

| Hi Greg,
For %ALcons and RaSTI you need an RT. EASE calculates the RT only when the room is closed. |

| Eventually the by putting the entire stadium in a large box made of faces with 98% absorption and then converting all the faces in the project to 2-sided faces I was able to close the room and get reasonable RaSTI numbers. While this seems a bit convoluted and appears to increase (double?) calculation times, it does seem to work. BTW, I don't map to the large box faces.
Thanks for your help. |
