| Just wondering what sort of success anyone has had with the new SKP import function in 4.3.6. I like to model in Sketchup and this is a potential lifesaver timewise. However, I have already run into some weird problems, like every intersection plane being a double vertex (and delete vertices commands don't seem to help.)
Any thoughts appreciated, I'll post of success I have.
Thanks

| I got some complex geometry to work quite well....I think I was doing two things wrong.
1. There were some extra faces on top of faces in Sketchup. I deleted the extra faces.
2. There were stray lines. I eliminated them with the "erase lonely segments" plugin available at the ruby depot
http://www.crai.archi.fr/RubyLibraryDepot/Ruby/RUBY_Library_Depot.htm
Finally, I have the Rahe-Kraft SU2EASE demo installed and running the “show faces with holes” part of the plugin helped me find extra smaller problems.
After that, it works well.
Let me know what any one else find. |

| Joe,
if there are faces with holes, the converter creates one face with no holes and then one separate face for every hole. These hole-faces are marked for EASE as "Is Coat of" like usual in EASE.
If you have a Face in SketchUp inside the hole, like a window,
then you sould delete it in SketchUp or in EASE. |
