| I am trying to model some scenarios that incorporate accoustic wall panels and ceiling panels. I would like to try different combinations of panels and rather than deleting and creating faces all the time, I would like to simply be able to turn the panels(faces) On or Off. Is this what the Activate and Deactivate switch allows?
I am mostly interested in the Aura mappring and calculations as well as Ray tracing.
Thanks is advance.

| Hi Brandon,
If you do a Ray Tracing using only active faces, the inactive faces will be ignored completely, this is an inaccurate calculation. Better to make all of the faces you want to switch back an forth the same color, say purple, then in the tables use the "Tools > Color and Material Coupled" Control to easily switch between the absorber and a normal wall surface. |

| OK.... Cool... I can see how that would work.. Thanks..
But what about faces oriented as clouds that are not intended as a coat of a surface and are basically in free space?
Thanks....

| For your panels which would either be present in the room or not, I'd suggest you make them an Object, then you can save the Object and bring it in and out of the room any time you want using Insert > Object. or with the Object selected, Delete, at prompt, Yes to "Remove Included Items?" |

| You can also use Objects to switch the materials from say GypBoard to FiberGlas. Just group the ones you want to change together in an Object. |
