| I'm having some problems with EASE, specifically when run by a user who doesn't have admin priveleges on our network. EASE refuses to start, giving several error messages, all invovling code 75 path/file access error.
Do I need to enable EASE users write access to certain files? If so which ones. I recently ran into a similar problem with other software, and had to allow full access to certain files and registry keys to a user group that contained all users of the software involved. I'm thinking along these lines.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Don |

| Hi Don,
If EASE is installed on the individual work station and when installed, all users were allowed, you should have no problems. You must have administrative rights to install the program and EASE will not run from a server, it must be installed and licensed on the individual workstations.
It is also best to keep the databases local to the workstation, though you can put them on a network drive. If you do this though, you must be vigilant in managing projects, particularly packing them before moving them to a different computer.
I'd suggest you reinstall the program on the problem machine. |

| Hi Don,
By enabling some access rights you can also run EASE with a restricted user account:
1.) Full access to the EASE program directory (..\Program Files\EASE 4.*
2.) Full access to the license directory. Look at the \Windows\Easelic.dir file ((resp. \WINNT\Easelic.dir)) which is the license directory on the regarding computer.

Access error under user rights |

| Hi,
I have trired the above permission settings without getting Ease to work under user rights. I get file/patch access errors when I try to start Ease with user rights. When logged in as administrator it works ok.
What else do I need to check to make sure it is set up okay? Files, registry, etc?

| Hi Don,
for the right advise we would need some information about your EASE installation.
For this please send an EASE Status Report to support@afmg.eu . To obtain the report execute "Create Status Report" from the Window's Start menu under /All Programs/EASE/Tools.
