Hello!

I am trying to simulate the acoustic response of a cardioid sub, and am especially concerned with the rearward radiation. I'm modeling everything to 1/10th the original scale and analyzing frequencies in the 1k-2k region (representing 100-200 Hz). I built my cardioid sub cluster from two individual front-facing subwoofers and the rear sub delayed by 150usec. This delay and physical alignment is also 1/10th the original scale.

I am interested in further attenuating the rearward radiation with some sort of sound absorbing materials. I've modeled my theoretical venue with AND without a theoretical sound absorbing material. Even inserting a two fold wall with sound-absorbers on both sides. But it seems I am only achieving a small attenuation across all frequencies.

What am i missing? Am i going about this correctly? Thanks in advance!

Hi blm,

EASE doesn't consider transondance, faces either block sound completely or pass it unmodified. The switch for this behavior is on the Calculation tab of the Calculation setup dialog. Checking "Shadow Cast" will cause faces to block sound.

I'm afraid that EASE won't do what you want it to.
