Memory error on long sweeps |

| When I try to use longer sweeps (e.g. 5.5s) at 192 kHz sampling rate, I get an error that states out of memory or something like that. The only way to get EASERA working again seems to be to shut it down and start it again.
I noticed that for a given length signal and a given number of averages, if I double the length of the signal, I have to reduce the number of averages by half. Is there some issue with how many points EASERA can store to run a stimulus signal? If so, is there any fix so that I can use longer sweeps with a good number of averages at a high sample rate? |

| Just a guess on my part but there may not be enough RAM available for your 5.5s, 192 kHz measurements. These parameters result in 1.056 million samples. For 16 bit samples this would require just over 2.1 MB of memory. |

| Any idea how I might be able allocate more resources or would that require a new system? I am running virtual memory at 8192MB right now and my system has 3GB RAM, but is a 32-bit single core system. |

may be there is a bug for those parameters and weighted sweep.
I would suggest, if you cannot use the broadband signal, create
pink or white signals. |

| Since you're running a 32 bit OS I suspect that it is not possible as it is only capable of addressing 4 GB of RAM total. The OS is probably using about 1 GB. Part of the address space used by the OS will also be consumed by the amount of memory in your video card. This will leave less than 2 GB available for other programs.
Installing more memory so that you have 4 GB may help but it may not. I would recommend changing the sample rate to 96 kHz or 48 kHz. I would think this should be sufficient for room acoustics work.
If you want a higher sample rate for loudspeaker measurement purposes you should be able to greatly reduce the sweep length without adversely affecting the results. |
