| I was wondering if there is a way to create/add a material that isn't within the materials database. |

| Adding materials to the database is easy:
1) Start EASE and select File > Main Databases > Wall Materials.
2) In the Material Database window, select File > New Wall Material and enter a name when prompted. This is the name you will see in EASE.
3) Click on the Coefficients tab and enter the values you have; typically octave bands from 125-4khZ. Use .99 for values of 1 and up.
4) Select Edit > Interpolate Absorption. In the window that opens, select the bands for which you have not entered data. Click on OK and the intermediate values will be calculated and entered.
5) Select File > Save Wall Material and save it to the data base.
If you have AURA you'll probably want to use the Scattering Wizard:
1) Select Edit > Calculate Scattering.
2) Select the type of surface.
3) Enter the dimension required and hit Apply; you'll see the recommended scattering coefficients graphed in the window.
4) Save the material as above.
Often, it's best to assign scattering to the surfaces in a model, rather than to the materials, as the scattering is very dependent on application.
That's all there is to it. |
