Absorption coefficient greater than 1 |

| Hello,
Some building materials absorption coefficients are greater than 1. Assigning such value to material in EASE material base is not possible. The question is should such coefficients be converted to absorption coefficients in Eyring formula and then used in material base? Does EASE uses Eyring coefficients?

| The Eyring formula uses the same coefficients as the Sabine formula does, so a conversion is not what you want to do. One reason you get reported values of greater than 1 (that is > 100%) is that the apparent area is actually larger than the standard area. There are a number of suggestions in the literature for how to deal with this in prediction programs. |
