| I constructed a model with Sketchup that even windows. When I imported SKP to EASE, EASE creates two separate surfaces in the same place of the window. The first surface has an inverted face (yellow) and the second "two fold" and "is coat of." Why create two surfaces?
If I do not remove the first surface (yellow) can not close the room.

| Hi,
EASE cannot handle 'real' holes in walls, like Sketchup does.
Windows in EASE are twofold faces, which are coat of the room wall. In the same way EASE handles carpets on the wall.
The importer closes all holes in the room walls and creates new faces for the holes. |

| then it is okay to delete the surface that creates EASE to close the room, right?
What is the correct way to draw a window in Sketchup and EASE not find a hole?
AutoCAD has the same problem?

| Hi,
if you make a window in Sketchup as a hole, the importer creates that extra window face and the room is closed in EASE. You must not delete the window face.
If you import from DXF, you cannot use regions with holes as faces.
The construction of a window should be the same as in EASE. Make room walls without holes and make a separate window face in the wall. Place this window face on a "two-fold" layer, for instance "Glass1 $ Glass1".
The coat-of property has to be changed in EASE later. |
