| Hello
I'm wondering, what's the difference between Local Ray Tracing and Ray Tracing with Impacts (or Mirror Image with Impacts).
Does Local Ray Tracing witch choosen ray tracing option calculate rays in the same way, as Ray Tr. with Impact does?
I know in Local Ray Tracing there is no Directed Emission option and no Loss parameter. Any other differences?
Thank you for your reply |

| Hi,
no there are no differences between Find Impacts and Local Raytacing, generally. Local raytracing is just a shorter way to look at reflections in the Probe. It bypasses the Raytracing module and the advanced options therein.
Mirror Image is essentially different from the above random (Monte Carlo) raytracing method. Mirror Image determines analytically all possible specular reflections for each order. Its performance strongly depends on the number of faces.

| check out the Audio Cyclopedia by Glenn Balou. There is a chapter on acoustical prediction by Dominique J. Chéenne.
